Welcome to Surroundings.

Welcome. Whether you are buying your first home, making room for a growing household, helping a parent move, selling a home you have loved for decades, or looking for a place with character, I’m glad you found us.

I’m Maggie, broker and owner of Surroundings, a real estate and lending company. My journey began in mortgage lending in 2003, expanded into real estate in 2006, and led me to open Surroundings in 2023.

Over those 23 years, I’ve had the privilege of building a wonderful community of clients, many of whom have become friends and continue to trust me with their next move or refer someone they care about. I’m deeply grateful for those relationships. Bringing people together and helping them find their way forward remain the most rewarding parts of my work.

My experience in both real estate and lending shapes how I approach each client’s situation. I enjoy helping people see possibilities they may not have considered: a financing strategy no one has explained, a potential complication worth addressing early, or a different way to approach a move. Sometimes a fresh perspective changes the entire plan.

I lead with education and transparency. Before moving forward, my clients should understand their options, the costs and tradeoffs, and how each decision connects to what they want for their lives. I take pride in developing thoughtful strategies, identifying blind spots, and making the details understandable so clients can make decisions with confidence.

While I have additional education and training in helping older adults and their families, my work spans all stages of life, from a first home to an investment property, a move closer to family, or a fresh start.

Rachel Dee Minyard and I joined together to start Surroundings because she brings design and innovation. Together, we bring this approach to life through a team that connects real estate, lending, design, and preparation. Whether we’re coordinating a purchase and sale, preparing a home for the market, or exploring whether staying put makes more sense, we start by listening and build a plan around you.
