Rachel Dee Minyard

I'm a Sacramento REALTOR® and Creative Director at Surroundings. I've always believed a home is more than an address. It's where life takes shape, where people gather, and where the next chapter begins. That belief has guided my work in design, business, and now real estate.

I work directly with buyers and sellers, helping them make clear, thoughtful decisions in a market that can feel anything but simple. I know Sacramento's neighborhoods, from East Sacramento, Land Park and Curtis Park to Midtown, Carmichael and Fair Oaks, and I have a particular eye for homes with character, especially mid-century architecture. I've lived in two Streng Brothers homes myself, so my appreciation for their design comes from experience, not just admiration.

Before real estate, I spent years in interior design and built two Sacramento businesses: a boutique and a hair salon. Those years taught me to pay attention to what people value, how to tell a compelling story, and how to find a way forward when circumstances change. For sellers, I bring a designer's perspective to how a home is prepared and presented, often using what's already there to help buyers see its appeal. For buyers, I help them recognize a home's potential while weighing its realities. Good design matters. So does a sound decision.

I also work alongside Maggie to guide families through right-sizing and senior transitions. These moves can hold decades of memories and decisions that affect the whole family. I understand that the person making the call may be helping a parent while raising children of their own. My role is to bring perspective, a plan, and steady care to a process that deserves all three.

Outside of work, I'm a wife, mom, and new grandma. I sing lead vocals in The Roadies, Sacramento Rotary's house band, and I care deeply about staying involved in the community I call home. My family and I love camping in our Airstream, playing games, and cooking elaborate meals over a good glass of wine. Baking is another matter. And Moon, our hilarious Pyrenees-doodle, makes sure life never gets too serious.

I'm not much for small talk. I love a conversation with a little depth, a little surprise, and room to follow an interesting thread. That's probably how I approach real estate, too: listen closely, look beyond the obvious, and help people find the move that feels right for the life they're living now.
