Corporate relocation to the Sacramento region

Moving a team member to Sacramento?

A company move is a new job, a household and a deadline all at once. I plan the home search around the person, so they arrive knowing where they are going.

Hi, I’m Rachel Dee Minyard, REALTOR® and Creative Director with Surroundings. I’m Sacramento born and raised, and relocation is what I do best.

Whether you are the person moving or the person helping someone move, I will tell you what you deserve to know about the neighborhoods, including the tradeoffs and not just the highlights. Maggie, our broker, lines up the loan.

Work with whichever of us you’re most comfortable with. Either way, the whole Surroundings team is behind you.

How a move works

Six steps, one team

  • 01A first conversation

We start with the person and the timeline: when the job starts, who is moving, what the household needs, and what the company’s relocation policy covers.

  • 02Video tours and neighborhood matching

Before anyone boards a plane, we tour homes and neighborhoods on video, from Midtown and East Sacramento to Roseville, Rocklin, El Dorado Hills, Elk Grove and Davis, and narrow the list to the places that fit how they live and how they commute.

  • 03One or two focused days in person

When they fly in, the homes and streets are lined up ahead of time, so the visit is spent deciding and not searching.

  • 04The offer and the loan, together

Maggie, our broker, lines up the loan while I handle the search and the offer, so the lending and the home are planned by one team.

  • 05The home they are leaving

If the home they are leaving is in California and in the area we work, Maggie or I can sell it. If it is anywhere else in the country, we have a network of vetted agents and can connect them with one. Either way, the sale and the purchase are planned around each other.

  • 06Getting settled

My work does not end at the closing table. I love connecting people with the neighborhoods, restaurants and local businesses that help a new place begin to feel familiar.

For the person moving

Which Sacramento?

The city your new office is in is rarely the whole story. A few streets can change the feel of a neighborhood and the price of a home, and the right fit depends on how you live. That is where I start.

Take the Find Your Fit quiz to see which kind of Sacramento matches how you want your weekends to feel.

For HR and mobility teams

A clear point of contact

If you are helping an employee relocate, you can reach me directly. Tell me the timeline and what your relocation policy covers, and I will plan around it.

Prices, neighborhoods and the home search are real and local, and I will not promise a result I cannot stand behind.

What sets us apart

The loan is on the same team.

Real estate and lending under one roof. Maggie B. Hopkins, our broker, is also a licensed mortgage broker, so the home search, the offer and the loan are planned together, and a corporate move gets the tightest coordination we can give it.
